Ulukaya’s investment firm, Shephard Futures, purchased Anchor Brewing’s assets, including its Potrero Hill campus and brewing equipment. Ulukaya has expressed a strong commitment to restoring the brewery and maintaining its deep-rooted connection to San Francisco.
Plans for the brewery include reviving its classic beer recipes and focusing on local sales in San Francisco establishments. There is also optimism that many former Anchor Brewing employees will return to work under the new ownership. Ulukaya’s vision is to honor the brewery’s history while revitalizing its operations, bringing back Anchor Steam Beer and other beloved products to the community.
